Screening of the movie Paywall | May 30 | Zlín Film Festival
22. May 2019TBU Library will also participate in this year’s 59th Zlín Film Festival! As part of the accompanying programme, we will hold a screening of the movie Paywall: The Business of Scholarship on Thursday, May 30 at 17:15 on the 4th floor of the TBU Library.
Paywall: The Business of Scholarship is a documentary focused on the need of Open Access to science and research.
One can stand out from the crowd with his abilities or talent but his hands are tied without access to information, the most elementary raw material that all reputable scientists possess. What can we do if we lack scientific information? How to change the status quo of a huge part of research locked behind paywalls?
After the screening, there will be a discussion about Open Access and open science. Our guests:
