The Library of Tomas Bata University, based in the University Centre, represents the symbolic heart of the University’s academic life. As the largest specialist library in the Zlín region, it provides services not only to students and staff, but also to the general public. Open six days a week, it offers an open and inspiring environment where the printed word naturally blends with modern digital technologies, and boasts a wide range of online databases.
The Library is a place where users can concentrate on their work and meet up with other people. Almost five hundred seats are available, in open spaces or separate computer rooms designed for quiet and undisturbed work. The Library also houses relaxation zones for rest periods during a busy academic day or evening, thereby promoting a balanced use of the space between work and regeneration.
