Lectures will take place on the 4th floor of the library. The Legacy of Tomáš Baťa: From the Shoemaker\'s Workshop to Tomas Bata University in Zlín November 12, 2024, 5 PM, Milan Balaban, Ph.D. Tomáš Baťa, Zlín businessman, mayor, and the person who lent his name to the university in Zlín. Come and learn about the life of this famous businessman. Bata: Seven Decades of Global Evolution - From the Post-War Challenge to the Digital Revolution (1945-2024) November 26, 2024, 5 PM, Milan Balaban, Ph.D. The second lecture will be about the hitherto little-known history of the Bata company after the end of the Second World War when, under the leadership of Tomáš Bata Junior, it became the largest shoe company in the world. Interesting facts from the company\'s present will also be heard in it. A gripping talk for everyone who wants to learn more about the past and present of the company, whose stores can still be found in every major city in our country.
