We didn’t give up the library and we are open!
22. September 2020Our dear loved ones, you probably already know that. The entire TBU will take the form of distance learning. So there are a lot of new regulations, but also exceptions. And we are one of them. Even though you have read and perhaps been a little confused, we can assure you that we have not given up the library at this time, the library is still open and we are here for you. Read on to find out everything you need to know.
UPDATE STATUS: We are still open, the new extraordinary measures (with effect from 00:00 on 12 October 2020) do not change it.
Library opening hours
The most essential change is that we have changed the opening hours. The library will be open from Monday to Friday from 8AM to 4PM. The extended opening hours of the 4th floor are canceled for this time. You can return books to the return machine outside the library’s opening hours, which is located on the right side of the ground floor of the U13 building (behind the cloakroom).
Our university press is open too, you can print study materials cheaply here.
Access to the floors
You can use the 2nd and 3rd floor. And without further restrictions (of course, please do not enter without a face covering, use disinfectants and keep safe distance). So you can study, work on computers, use multifunctional machines and, of course, borrow and return books. We dedicated the 4th floor to the needs of the crisis call center, so this floor will be closed to students.

Everyone wants university bomber jackets, hoodies, T-shirts … We have these things in our library store on the 4th floor. The library store with promotional items is open (Tuesday 1PM–4PM and Friday 12PM–3PM). Outside this time, please contact us on prodejna@utb.cz or by phone +420 57 603 8132.
