Linking Services and Access to Full Texts
SFX Link Resolver
SFX is a technology that allows easy linking from records in bibliographic databases, library catalogs, or web search results to full texts of documents searched for and provides other value-added services. The service is intended for students and employees of TBU and is available inside the IP range of TBU. For access to electronic information resources of TBU from another location, it is recommended to use remote access so the SFX service can function correctly
How do I recognize the SFX service?
You can recognize SFX by this icon, which is integrated into resources. Only a text link can be listed in some sources: Hledej/Search K.UTB.
How does SFX work?
If you see the SFX icon, you can click on it (whether it’s a book, scholarly article, or conference paper), and the service will try to find the full text. It will then show you a list of resources where the full text is available.
If you see the MVS/ILS icon in the SFX service interface instead of links to the full text, the system informs you that this document is not available in the UTB resources. In this case, you can use this icon to request an interlibrary loan service. The TBU library will then try to provide you with this document from another library.
Information Resources Portal and SFX
SFX is an integral part of our information resource portal. The service is fully integrated, and thanks to it, the portal displays the actual availability of documents. If you click on any full-text link, the service will ensure that you are directed directly to the source database or to the SFX service interface, where you will be offered a selection of sources where the full text is available.
